Dating | Playful Magazine
Dating is supposed to be simple. You meet someone, you like them, you don’t, you move on. In reality, it’s more confusing.
We’re more connected than ever, but a lot of dating feels like scrolling through people instead of meeting them. You open an app, decide in three seconds if someone is your future partner or someone you’d rather never meet, and then repeat that process until your thumb gets tiered.
And yet — people still want it. Connection, chemistry, attention, all of it. Even the disappointing parts have their own strange pull.
At Playful, we’re interested in what dating actually feels like now. Not the advice version, not the “5 steps to find love” version, but the lived version. The almosts. The overlaps. The situationships that never agreed on their own definition.
We’re also interested in how desire complicates everything. How kink, sex, power, and honesty show up in modern relationships — sometimes directly, sometimes in ways people don’t even have language for yet. Because dating today isn’t just about who you like. It’s about what you’re willing to admit you want.
